Trinity Academy's 5th annual Leavers Prom was the largest one so far. Nearly 200 students, and teachers turned out in a variety of spectacular and colourful ball gowns and suits. They looked absolutely fantastic and their dress was matched by the up market transport that brought them to the Academy. The car park saw Aston Martin, Porsche, limousines, hot rods, tractors, two horsepower carriages, a double deck bus and even an ice cream van and a bicycle pull up in front of a huge and appreciative audience of parents and friends on the sun drenched piazza in front of Trinity Academy.
Photographs were taken with friends and family which will be hold memories for years to come, at this key time in a young persons life, where they end their compulsory education. Thereafter a marvellous three course meal with waitress service was enjoyed as staff and students celebrated together. Each of the nine tutors spoke briefly about the awards to students which included; The best smile award, most likely to rule the world award, most original excuse award, most likely to be married award, most likely to be playing a play station when they are 40, first to make a million award, funniest student award, most dramatic performance award, most inspirational student award original transport to the prom Mr/Mrs Universe award and the Natural born leader award
A vote of thanks was then given on behalf of the students by Owen Taylor and Dr McGonigle ,Vice Principal, amused everyone with her talk about assemblies we all remember, including her own famous ‘ if we don't need eyebrows why have we got them ?' assembly. The evening then finished with a disco and formal photographs.
