Some classes may work through the material more quickly than others; therefore the professional judgement of each individual member of staff may require that some topics are taught in a different order from that shown in the file referenced above.

Our students take part in the Junior Mathematics Challenge. We also run a weekly puzzle club.

Key Stage 4

GCSE Syllabus: EDEXCEL - Sets 1 - 5 Higher, Linear

This consists of two final exams (one calculator, one non-calculator) at the end of the Year 11, covering the whole of the syllabus.

Set 1 also study for the Additional Mathematics Qualification. This is provided by OCR

GCSE Syllabus: EDEXCEL - Seta 6 -8 Foundation, Modular

This consists of four papers taken over the course of the two years. The four units consist of Handling Data, Number and Algebra and Shape, Space and Measure

Teaching towards the universally demanded GCSE has already begun in Year 9. The emphasis is upon a rigorous treatment of every topic area at a demanding pace. Throughout Key Stage 4, we make regular and compulsory use of the online resources provided by MYMATHS, with every student provided a personal log-in and plan. Our students take part in the Intermediate Challenge, reaching the national finals in 2009.

Key Stage 5

Specification: MEI Specification

We study the MEI AS and A2 Syllabus, offering all the core modules (C1, C2, C3, C4), as well as a selection of the applied modules (M1, M2, S1, S2, D1). The majority of our sixth form students choose to study between the Mechanics and Statistics Modules.

At Further Level, we offer the mandatory core modules (FP1, FP2), as well as FP3 and M3.

The department subscribes to the online resources provided by MEI. Our students take part in the Senior Maths Challenge, as well as the Senior Team Challenge.
